forums
I'm not sure if you knew, but there are now two (relatively unused) message forums for Planet Earth (and other tourist traps). One is hosted by The Nice, the other is hosted by WebComics.com -- you are clicking on the WebComics link under "Things to Click On", right?

The WebComics forum doesn't require registration, which is one thing I think is putting off people from using The Nice forum. Anyway, if you go to The Nice forum and change the setting to "Show All Topics", you'll see a bunch of posts that were made an eon ago when that forum first launched.

I know everyone seems to enjoy the Tag Board, but messages there seem to scroll off rather quickly. Scrolling through archived Tag Board messages is a pain. So if you'd like to use one of the message boards for longer messages or for messages that you feel might provoke some interesting discussion amoungst your fellow readers, go for it! I'll let y'all decide which forum you prefer.

As much as I love the comics, Thomas, I'm not so sure there's really that much use for a discussion forum. I mean, we have these comments on all the newsposts and the tagboard is fine for quick little notes about current strips.

Exactly what are we going to talk about in the message forums? "Today's strip sure was funny, but it needed more Dex" (this is always true, by the way) doesn't really require a threaded message forum.

Who knows? If the comments for the News Bits and the Tag Board are all that we need, then they're all we need.
