Wow.
I am stunned. Utterly, utterly stunned.

Scott Kurtz just reposted his link to his Mac donation page. Apparently, he gets a lot of Mac users writing him demanding he use a Mac. He finally had enough. Back at the end of May, he wrote, "if I had a dollar for every email you guys sent me this last year, I would have enough money to buy a mac. So here's your chance." And with that, he demanded that each time a Mac zealot decides to write yet another screed about how "Windoze" sucks to send in a dollar instead. Eventually he'll get enough donations sent in, he'll be able to buy a damn Mac and get the Mac zealots to shut the hell up.

This was just over three and a half months ago -- and it wasn't live during all of those three point five months! In that short time, Scott received "right around $1k".

Wow.

These aren't donations to keep a site running or to help the cartoonist pay the mortgage or donations to just say "Hey, I like PVP." These aren't payments for merchandise. This is approximately $10 a day he's getting "to avoid getting email from Mac Zealots that serve no purpose but to remind me I can't afford a 23 inch cinema display."

Stunned, I say.

My Mac's held together with dried leeches and mangrove bark, and cost me around $300 after I upgraded the processor to a G4/466. If I had a grand to throw in the pot, I could buy one new. No, it wouldn't be a red hot G5, but then if I was buying a gaming box for $1000 it wouldn't be a top of the line Alienware dual-everything either.

If Scott's got $1000 to buy a Mac so he can see what it's really like and quit slagging Macs off... and he hasn't bought one... I'm calling shenanigans.
