i've found a new obsession
So I've been trying to boost the strip's prominence on various search engines by chosing the words used in these news items a bit more carefully than in the past. No, I'm not flooding the page with specific terms to spoof search engines (even though this news bit might appear as such), but I've been using words like "comic strip" and "daily comic" more often. They say the same thing as "Planet Earth (and other tourist traps)", but it'll also (hopefully) get more readers here looking for just plain ol' comic strips.
So in this round of the Google dance, I've noticed that my standings are... more interesting. Various words I've been trying to implement as keys are combinations of
daily online comic webcomic strip. For
online comic strip and
daily comic strip thesnakefarm.com comes up in the low 30s.
daily online comic strip brings us up as number 12. But the amazing thing was the word
webcomic. thesnakefarm.com is Google's number 7 pick for
daily webcomic! If you change that search to
daily webcomic strip, we're number 4!
But to put this into perspective, I've had as many people find the site in the last week searching for the above keywords as I have for people searching for
i want to have sex with animals.
I hope that person enjoyed the site.
(If you're interested in PageRank, thesnakefarm.com's main page went from 3 to 4. The main comic page dropped from 6 to 5.)
