hotlinking
I've noticed that someone out there created a page that loads every panel in the 2guys strip. I know that they didn't mean any harm -- it was probably curiosity about the number of panels or a PHP/javascript coding exercise or something. However, there are some people who might want to take images from thesnakefarm.com and use them for their own purposes. I have no problem with that, as long as they do list a notice on the website or whatever to visit http://www.thesnakefarm.com .

The problem comes from bandwidth usage -- hotlinking directly to images hosted at thesnakefarm.com uses up the alotted amount of bandwidth Dreamhost sets aside for me. It's not a problem now, but it will be once PE(aott) and 2guys hits Megatokyo levels of popularity (which should be any day now).

If you find a particular 2guys (and the upcoming Confessions) strip funny, feel free to grab a screen capture of it (Win: ALT + Print Screen; Mac: something else) and place it on a website somewhere. I'd like it if you kept the URL on your screengrab, and maybe a link back to 2guys (which I know all of you would do anyway). If you like any of the other strips, feel free to copy them to your computer and host them on your site, your livejournal, or wherever.

The only place online that are authorized to hotlink to images here are http://webcomics.com and http://nice.purrsia.com .

Thanks!

Mac: Command-Shift-3 to grab the whole screen, Command-Shift-4 to get a crosshair cursor and select area.

And a question: From personal experience, when I check out "2 guys..." I'll be reloading at least 50 times; if everyone does the same, aren't your bandwidth/quota going to be used up quickly anyway?

Not as quickly as someone who codes up their own version of 2guys, hotlinking directly to my images.

Uhhh. Oops, that was me. I just wanted to see all the panels without having to keep reloading or typing in all the URLs. Mostly I just wanted to make sure that the panels I wrote were the best ones. They were.
