just an addendum
Now, what I just posted a little while ago doesn't mean that in the future, I might not switch over to option one. I'll admit, option one does look very appealing -- my time doing the comic strip will be more efficient, the overall look of the strip would be a lot cleaner, and I won't have the comic strip style interfering with my developing art style. Take a look at something like Scott Kurtz's PVP. While he doesn't use cut and paste (as much as others who follow option one), he uses character templates to draw his characters. The end result? All his Coles look like all his other Coles and he's gotten the muscle memory down where he probably doesn't need to use those templates any more to draw another Cole. But with my case, I'd have to be happy with the way I want to draw Janet, and I'm never happy with the way I draw her. I'd have to find the perfect Janet Holiday, draw that, and use that artwork as a template from that point on. However, I'm back to the "reinforcing bad habits" thing if I want to continute development of my artistic sensibilities. So eventually I might switch to option one. Not now, but later. Much later.

For now, I'm sticking with the "just draw, dammit" approach and see how that goes.

But now I'm off to bed as I'm really tired and this isn't making much sense anymore and I feel like I'm just rambling on and on...

I like it. It feels fresh, it looks great, and it made me laugh out loud.

Keep going!
